The Delhi Capitals on Thursday appointed former England captain Kevin Pietersen as their mentor for the Indian Premier League 2025 season, starting on March 21. The franchise made the announcement on social media through its app.
Pietersen has played for the Delhi Capitals in the past, when it was called as the Delhi Daredevils. In a glittering career, the 44-year-old played 104 Tests, in which he scored 8181 runs@47.28, with 23 hundreds and 35 fifties.

He also scored 4440 runs in 136 ODIs@40.73, with nine hundreds and 25 fifties, and 1176 runs in 37 T20Is@37.93.
Famous for his trademark 'switch hit' shot, 'KP' had played for the Delhi Daredevils in the 2012 season, during which he scored 305 runs at a strike rate of 147, with a highest score of 103 not out.
Pietersen then went on to captain the team in IPL-2014. In the 2015 IPL, Pietersen played for Sunrisers Hyderabad.
