iPhone hack lets you 'hide' apps on home screen using little-known button

Those of us who have iPhones probably spent quite a bit of time each day on the home screen, navigating which app we're going to use next.

But with so many different features and downloads, our phones can have the tendency to look messy and cluttered, and it can sometimes be hard to find exactly what you're looking for.

Thankfully, there are a couple of little-known iPhone hacks that are designed to help you organise your home screen, making your phone easier to use overall.

Here's how you can make the most of your home screen and the features that it hosts, as reported by the Sun.

Hide pages of apps

No matter what you use your iPhone for, whether that's work, socialising or gaming, it's likely you'll have pages and pages of apps on your home screen - some of which you maybe don't use, even if you keep them organised in folders.

So if you have an entire page of your home screen you want to hide, you can do this by holding your finger down on the screen until the apps start wobbling.

Next, tap on the pill-shaped bubble at the bottom of your screen – the one that usually shows which Home Screen you're on.

This will bring you to a page that lets you hide individual Home Screens by "unticking" the checkboxes beneath them. Once you're finished, just hit 'Done' in the upper right corner.

You can bring these pages back whenever you like, as they'll still be stored in your iPhone's App Library - which you can access by swiping left to the last page on your home screen.

Use the hidden buttons

You may not even know this, but there are a whole host of hidden buttons on your iPhone that can simplify the way you use it.

They're called Quick Actions, and you can access them by long-pressing an app and seeing what kind of options pop up.

For example, try it on the Apple Messages app to quickly text your favourite contacts.

Try it on the Settings app and you'll get a secret menu with shortcuts to Bluetooth, WiFi, Mobile Data and Battery.

Holding down on Photos reveals a Search function used to find images quickly.

You can also instantly navigate to photos from "One Year Ago" using this menu.

It's not just Apple apps you can use this on - for instance, WhatsApp's Quick Actions allow you to start a new chat, search or bring up your QR code.

Move apps quickly

If you're trying to organise all your apps into folders, moving them can be a real pain as it's not the quickest process.

You might think you can only move them one by one - by long pressing them, waiting for the wiggle and dragging them to their new location.

But you can actually stack them up and move multiple at the same time by long pressing one and dragging it into the space between two rows of apps.

Without releasing it, use another finger to tap a second app which will add it to the stack, meaning you can move them together. You can keep adding apps as long as you keep the first finger on the screen.

Then, just drag and drop to the location you want them in.
