INVESTIGATIONS are underway following the death two teenagers over the weekend.
At around 11.20pm on Saturday, August 12, police were called to a report of an 18-year-old male taking unwell in the Constarry Road area of Croy.
He was taken to University Hospital Monklands in Airdrie where he was pronounced dead a short time later.
Around three hours later, at 2.20am on Sunday, August 13, police were made aware of another 18-year-old male taking unwell at a premises on Eastvale Place, Glasgow.
He was rushed to Queen Elizabeth University Hospital where he was pronounced dead a short time later.
The next of kin of both men have been made aware and officers say enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances surrounding their deaths.
It is understood police are working to establish whether the deaths may be linked and one line of enquiry being considered is that the deaths were drugs related.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "Around 11.20pm on Saturday, August 12, 2023, we were called to a report of a man taking unwell in the Constarry Road area of Croy.
"Emergency services attended and an 18-year-old was taken to University Hospital Monklands in Airdrie, where he was pronounced dead a short time later.
"Next of kin are aware and enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances."
They continued: "Around 2.20am on Sunday, August 13, 2023, we were made aware a man had become unwell at a premises on Eastvale Place, Glasgow.
"An 18-year-old was taken to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital where he was pronounced dead a short time later.
"Next of kin have been informed and enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances."
