An international makeup brand is opening a massive new store in Newcastle city centre.
Morphe is a beauty brand that was founded in Los Angeles in 2008 and sells a large range brushes and makeup pallets.
As well as selling its own range of products, Morphe also partners with famous makeup artists, such as YouTuber James Charles, who released his own artistry palette with the brand and launched it at the company’s New York branch.
The company is set to open its fourth UK store in Eldon Square in late summer 2019.
Morphe already has stores in Stratford, Birmingham, and Liverpool and will open its fifth site at Intu Victoria Centre, in Nottingham. However, the company also sells its products online at retailers such as Pretty Little Thing and Selfridges.com.
The US brand is expanding rapidly across the UK, and only opened its first British store in London last year.
The Newcastle shop will be based in a unit previously occupied by Adidas, after the sportswear brand left the shop front a few weeks ago.
A giant advert announcing Morphe’s impending arrival in Eldon Square has been plastered over the retail unit’s windows.
The premise is a large unit and Adidas operated its store over two floors. However, an application has been placed with Newcastle City Council to strip out the existing unit and split the shop front into two separate retail units.
Morphe has not provided an exact date for its Newcastle launch and a spokeswoman for Eldon Square said she was unable to comment on the arrival of the makeup brand in the shopping centre.
Job adverts posted online suggest that the company may split the shop into two distinct brands, Morphe Brushes and Morphe Cosmetics.
The company is looking to create a number of jobs within its “Morphe squad” in the centre including: beauty artists (full time and part time), stock associates, and keyholders.
