Interactive map shows the 7 coronavirus hotspots in Nottingham

One area of Nottingham now sits in the worst category for coronavirus infections after a spike in cases.

According to the latest Government data presented in an interactive map, North Sherwood has an infection rate of 898.3 per 100,000.

The area has had a substantial increase of cases in the seven days up to January 12, with 39 new cases, a 111.4% increase on the previous seven days.

The figures, correct as of 4pm on January 17, state there were a total of 74 cases recorded for the neighbourhood.

No other part of the city has a rate above, 800 which places it in the darkest purple category on the map.

Below are the six other areas with the highest infection rates (as recorded in the seven days to January 12):

Bestwood - has a rolling rate of 683.3 per 100,000 with a total of 65 confirmed cases up by 10.2 % (increase of 6 cases).

Clifton South - has a rate of 662.8 per 100,000 with 40 confirmed cases down by 21.6% (decrease of 11 cases).

Bilborough North - has a rate of 655.7 per 100,000 with 45 confirmed cases down by 4.3% (decrease of 2 cases).

Bilborough South - has a rate of 642.1 per 100,000 with 39 confirmed cases up by 21.9% (increase of 7 cases).

Forest Fields - has a rate of 631.5 per 100,000 with 44 confirmed cases down by 18.5% (decrease of 10 case).

Clifton West - has a rate of 625.8 per 100,000 with 39 confirmed cases down by 17% (decrease of 8 cases)
