The Falcons got off to another slow start in Sunday’s 27-20 loss to the Seahawks. After trailing 24-0 at halftime, Atlanta’s comeback effort fell short, and the team is now 1-7.
Here’s a look at all three phases from the Falcons’ sixth straight loss.
Offense

Matt Schaub was actually pretty good outside of a first-half interception. The Falcons defense let the team down early, but Schaub threw for 460 yards and the team at least made things interesting down the stretch. Atlanta scored 20 second-half points but couldn’t recover an onside kick when trailing by only a touchdown late. Brian Hill had a 23-yard touchdown run, but Devonta Freeman had just 39 yards on 13 carries. A slow start doomed this offense yet again.
Defense

The Falcons gave up 24 first-half points but played strong in the second half. They got their first sack in weeks when Grady Jarrett took down Russell Wilson. The early deficit was too much to overcome ultimately, but it was the best this defense has looked in weeks, which is a major reason the team is 1-7.
Special teams

Matt Bryant missed his first two field goal attempts, but his third-quarter kick kept the Falcons in the game at 24-11. Overall, it was another underwhelming performance from the special teams units. Missed field goals changed the momentum of the game, and Kenjon Barner didn’t do much in the return game.
