Over the last couple of weeks, a feud has been rumoured to be tearing the Beckham family in two. According to a heap of various insider sources, it’s all because of sizzling beef between matriarch Victoria Beckham and Nicola Peltz-Beckham, the wife of her eldest son, Brooklyn Beckham.
It all kicked off during David Beckham‘s 50th birthday celebrations. Although Nicola and Brooklyn were in New York and said to be attending the 2025 Met Gala, they ditched the event to fly to London. However, despite being in the same city as the Beckham family and the birthday bash, sources said they didn’t appear.
One insider theory is that the couple didn’t show up because Romeo Beckham is now dating Brooklyn’s ex-girlfriend, Kim Turnbull, and the whole situation makes them uncomfortable. However, other sources are saying that Brookyln and Nicola’s absence are a result of a huge clash in personalities between Victoria and Nicola.
According to a “long-standing friend of the Beckhams” speaking to The Daily Mail, the feid between Victoria and Nicola first began in 2022 after they butted heads during the planning of Brooklyn and Nicola’s exorbitant wedding. Now, the insiders allege that the bad vibes continue as their personalities clash.
“Victoria is fairly open among her close friends about what a viper Nicola is and how she feels betrayed by Brooklyn, so the mask has fully dropped,” the source said.
“This is a takeover situation, and it is all about the relationship between Victoria Beckham and Nicola. In some ways, Brooklyn has married his mother in Nicola. Nicola is a very strong woman and she wants to build her own family brand.”
The source claims that while David has been a “peacemaker” in the past, his patience is wearing thin.
“The feeling is that she [Nicola] has isolated him from them all,” they claim, noting that the difference in Victoria and Nicola’s sense of humour is also straining the relationship.
“Victoria has a killer wit and is very good with put downs. But Nicola isn’t funny and isn’t good on irony. This appears to have led to Nicola lashing out and making lots of old comments like ‘When I get to 50’ or ‘Oh my god, I keep forgetting you were around in the 1980s’. Needless to say, Victoria hates this.”
Apparently, the Beckhams aren’t too jazzed with the headlines and reports of their family being in disarray because it negatively impacts their brand. However, Nicola feels that distancing herself and Brooklyn from them is a positive move.
“Nicola feels Brooklyn needs to grow up and move on. She doesn’t like it when he seems to try to imitate his dad with his tattoos and his lookalike clothes and hair, so he’s sort of changed his look,” the insider said.
According to another source, Victoria and David are worried for their son — especially after he didn’t rock up to any of the five luxurious birthday events thrown by the famous family.
“There has been no call, no contact, nothing. As parents, David and Victoria are concerned for their son and they have tried to get in touch but he isn’t interested,” the other source said, per The Daily Mail.
“David even tried through social media last Monday because he fears that his son won’t know that he and Victoria love him so dearly otherwise.”
The insider says that the parents don’t believe Romeo’s girlfriend Kim is at the heart of the issue because there were two birthday events where she was not invited to, including a boys-only fishing trip in Miami.
“It is a terribly sad situation,” the source continued.
“They just want him to know that they are there for him when he’s ready to talk to him, but he simply doesn’t seem very interested at all. Nicola must be behind this, she has been driving this wedge for some years now.”
With all that being said, it’s important to note that these insider sources are not verified. Plus, if there’s one thing the internet and our culture love, it’s pitting two strong, beautiful women against each other.
