Monday night’s episode of Farmer Wants A Wife (FWAW) 2025 has teased an extremely dramatic moment where Farmer Thomas goes missing after a spat with front-runner Clarette. However, an inside source has revealed the reason why the farmer ditched the show.

While FWAW is known for its wholesome image and golden success rate, it appears that 2025’s rodeo is jam-packed with drama. From axed farmers to spoiled storylines and rumoured couple swaps, it feels like it’s gone down the bloody Married At First Sight route — and I’m lowkey living for it???
Anyways, adding to all that drama, it appears that this year’s season will also be copping a runaway farmer, which was teased at the end of episode 11, which aired Monday, May 26.
To give you a quick recap, in a promo for episode 12, it’s revealed that Farmer Thomas has a huge “blowout” with one of his front-runners, Clarette.
“Everything has been a lie. You fucking prick,” Clarette can be heard saying before Thomas speeds away from the FWAW set.
While it looks like a bucking wild ride with pure, raw emotion, an inside source has dished on the real reason why Thomas went “missing” from the show.
Why did Farmer Thomas leave Farmer Wants A Wife?
According to Woman’s Day, Thomas and Clarette got into a fight because he finally revealed that he’d been messaging Claire.
For those who need a quick refresher, Claire was one of Thomas’ front-runners. She even secured the 24-hour date in Week One. Despite that connection, Claire opted to leave the show early, admitting that she wasn’t sure if the whole FWAW life was for her.
Did Farmer Thomas really go missing from Farmer Wants A Wife?
An inside source told the publication Thomas’ big escape from the farm was purely for the drama.
“They did that just for drama,” the insider claimed to Woman’s Day.
“It was one of the producer’s tactics to keep the ladies on their toes to say Farmer Thomas had gone missing.
“Farmer Thomas was held back from filming that day and producers told everyone, including the other farmers, he had gone missing. Heightening his absence just to mess with Clarette.”
YIKESSSSS.
The insider added that it “made sense to distance” Thomas from his suitors so they could “stress over the texts”.
“They got a lot of good content by removing him from the usual shooting schedule, allowing Clarette and Rachel no choice but to loop the two newer girls in on how much Claire and Farmer Thomas were still communicating,” they continued.
Furthermore, the insider claimed FWAW producers wanted to use Claire as “an emotional chess piece” to mess with Clarette and teased the return of Claire throughout the show.
“They knew Clarette felt threatened by Claire. So they’d casually tease the idea that Claire could be coming back,” the source claimed.
“It kept Clarette constantly second-guessing herself and Farmer Thomas. Clarette could write a book on what happened!”

Unfortunately, for those who want the drama, we can confirm that Claire will NOT be returning to the show. However, she did reveal to Yahoo! Lifestyle that producers reached out in hopes of getting her back on for the ride.
“I’d had a full Britney [Spears] moment and I’d already cut my hair into a bob, so I was like, ‘No, can’t come back’,” she told the publication.
“Also, I was thinking like, if I did come back, the backlash would’ve probably been like, ‘Who does she think she is? She can’t get a second chance’.
“If it hadn’t been for the bob, I probably would have gone back. Imagine that! Could you imagine the look on Clarette’s face when I walked back in?”
I knew 2025 would be quite the ride. But honestly, I didn’t think it would be this messy!!!
