In a wild turn of events, TV insiders are claiming that Farmer Wants A Wife (FWAW) Australia producers are scrambling behind the scenes and are considering a major change following this year’s season.
This article contains potential Farmer Wants A Wife Australia spoilers.
It’s without a doubt that FWAW has quite the golden streak when it comes to successful matchmaking, especially when it’s compared to its competitors like Married At First Sight and Love Island.
After all, FWAW has produced 12 marriages, ten relationships and a whopping 28 children.
However, a TV insider claimed that the 2026 season does not match up to its predecessors, with a number of this year’s farmers failing to find a wife.
“The talk of the town is that these ‘farmers’ did not find love this season and that could be for a myriad of reasons,” a source who claimed to be close to Channel Seven told Sky News.
“But a season full of failed matches could affect the brand, and Channel Seven [does] not want to run the risk of tanking one of its highest-rating reality shows.
“The casting of the ‘farmers’ and the ladies is being looked back over as the series comes to a close, with a look to improving the stakes on finding these farmers’ wives.”
Alongside fears that the results of this year’s batch — which have been dubbed “the hottest” — could hurt ratings, the insider also claimed the network was looking at Johanna Griggs as a potential replacement for current host Natalie Gruzlewski.
PEDESTRIAN.TV has reached out to Channel Seven for comment.
While this year has ~truly~ brought the drama with multiple walkouts, love letter scandals and TikTok beefs, some fans have called for the show to return to its wholesome roots.

Taking to a FWAW Australia fan group, fans have critiqued the 2026 season, comparing the storylines to MAFS.
“I know it’s probably been said a thousand times.. but is it just me or is this season’s girls a lot more catty, immature and needy,” one person wrote.
“Really not enjoying this series… way too MAFS! Very shallow people and production. This was the only reality dating show I liked because it had very real people who were really genuine. Now it’s all bleached teeth and make-up and drama, very little about fitting in as a farmer’s wife,” another penned.
“So scripted and staged it’s ridiculous to watch,” a third wrote.
Honestly, I think it’s got the best of both worlds! But yes, 2026 has been quite the ride so far.
