Inside the stunning Merewether home snapped up for $5.8m

It has taken just five days for another significant listing in Merewether's exclusive Hickson Street to be snapped up.

In May, Robinson Property's Ben Robinson is understood to have sold 48 Hickson Street within four days on the market for $5.91 million. The six-bedroom, four-bathroom residence with breath-taking ocean and city views was listed with a guide of $5.5 million to $6 million.

Robinson Property's Lyndall Allan has now negotiated the fast $5.8 million sale of a stunning four-level trophy home at 22 Hickson Street.

The luxury home had five bedrooms, four bathrooms, triple garaging, a rooftop terrace and views to Port Stephens in the north and Dudley Bluff to the south.

A hotel-style master suite on the top level featured a lavish dressing room and handmade Italian crystal bath. It was listed with a guide of $5.5 million to $6 million and secured in five days with multiple buyers and offers made.

In July, Robinson Property's Darren Bender sold a landmark Californian-style mansion at 39 Scenic Drive in Merewether for $6 million.

Another luxury listing at 33 Scenic Drive, marketed by PRD Newcastle and Lake Macquarie's Mark Kentwell, Natalie Tonks and Chasse Ede, has also just sold for an undisclosed sum. The Newcastle Herald reported in July the five-bedroom, four-bathroom residence had been listed with a guide of $5.8 million.

During the week, the $8.7 million sale of a landmark Merewether home at 44 Kilgour Avenue set a new real estate record for Newcastle.

Proving popular

A large listing in Belmont North has reportedly attracted plenty of interest during its first week on the market.

Tammy Hawkins, of McGrath Newcastle City, is marketing the six-bedroom, four-bathroom home with a pool on an 805 square metre block at 5 Cooinda Close.

The two-storey house features a master suite on both levels and enjoys lake, ocean and bush views.

It is set for auction on October 9. A price guide is yet to be disclosed.

"There's been a fair bit of interest out of Sydney, people looking for a lifestyle change," Ms Hawkins said.

"The house is immaculate. It's close to the coast and in a really nice pocket."

COASTAL SANCTUARY: This Belmont North property features a six-bedroom, four-bathroom home, saltwater swimming pool plus lake, ocean and bush views.

Listings over $1 million

Expectations are believed to be around $2.75 million for a newly built Valentine residence overlooking Lake Macquarie. Belle Property Lake Macquarie have listed 114 Dilkera Avenue. It features four bedrooms, three bathrooms, garaging for four cars and a pool.

An auction guide of $1.3 million has been set for a three-bedroom home at 21 Elsworth Parade in Merewether Heights that has been listed by Robinson Property and has reportedly attracted strong early enquiry.

Dalton Partners have a three-bedroom, two-bathroom house at 254 Beaumont Street, Hamilton listed with a guide of $1.25 million to $1.35 million.

Listings $500,000 to $1 million

McGrath New Lambton are guiding $950,000 to $1.025 million for a three-bedroom home at 7 Dunkley Avenue, New Lambton.

Movable have a two-bedroom apartment in the Ireland's Bond 1884 heritage building at 402/123 King Street, Newcastle listed for $700,000 to $750,000.

Belle Property Newcastle are guiding $730,000 to $780,000 for a two-bedroom apartment within walking distance of the beach and ocean baths at 2/80 Mitchell Street, Merewether.

An auction guide of $950,000 has been set for a two-bedroom terrace at 26 Alfred Street in Newcastle East that is being marketed by Robinson Property.

Listings under $500,000

Walkom Real Estate have a one-bedroom unit at 8/87 Mitchell Street, Merewether with a guide of $360,000 to $390,000.

A two-bedroom villa at 2/16A Minmi Road, Edgeworth has been listed by Belle Property with a guide of $420,000 to $460,000.
