Inside Sophie Turner and Joe Jonas' relationship – from surprise wedding to second baby

Sophie Turner, 26, showed off her baby bump during the 2022 Met Gala on May 3 with husband Joe Jonas, 32.

There has been months of speculation over their second child and finally the pair have made it official at the red carpet event.

He quickly took to Instagram to share a snap of himself and his wife, with the caption: “ Met Gala 2022: Gilded Age”.

Turner also revealed how becoming a mother had changed her acting career for the better.

Speaking to The Wrap, she said: “The concept of family has made me an entirely much more emotional person. The empathy is heightened; the feelings about family are just like overflowing.

“It's made me a better actor for becoming, you know, becoming a mother.”

When did Sophie Turner and Joe Jonas meet?

Turner and Jonas started dating back in 2016. The couple were introduced through mutual friends and hit it off almost immediately.

In November of that year, the two were spotted kissing at a Kings of Leon concert in Rotterdam ahead of the MTV Europe Music Awards.

However, they didn't confirm the relationship until January 2017, when Sophie shared a picture of her beau smoking a cigar in Miami on Instagram.

Jonas proposed to Turner in 2017 with a dream $150,000 (£119,000) diamond ring, announcing it on Instagram.

Sharing a picture of his fiancée wearing the dazzling rock, Jonas captured it: "She said yes."

Where did Sophie Turner and Joe Jonas get married?

Joe and Sophie had what was supposed to be a low-key legal wedding ceremony in 2019 when they eloped to Las Vegas.

At the time an insider told People Magazine: "They had to get married in the States to make it legal, but the wedding is still in Europe."

The wedding cost just $600 (£477) and was officiated by an Elvis Presley impersonator.

The marriage was on full display for the world to enjoy thanks to DJ Diplo recording it all on Instagram-live.

It took place after the Billboard Music Awards in Las Vegas in 2019, where they heading to a secluded little white chapel afterwards.

It may have been a small event, but it was packed full of celeb friends including DJ Khalid, Dan + Shay and of course, Kevin and Nick Jonas.

Their second wedding took place on June 29 2019, and was held in a beautiful chateau in the south of France.

Sophie's fellow Game of Thrones co-star Maisie Williams was a bridesmaid, while Jonas was joined by his famous brothers as groomsmen.

The couple have one child together, with another one on the way. Their first child, Willa Jonas, was born in July, 2020.

Speaking to UK Weekly, a representative of the couple said: “Willa isn’t a family name and isn’t short for anything. [It] is a name they had picked out a while ago before the baby’s arrival.”

Now they have finally put fans theorising to rest after they attended the Met Gala 2022 and showed off Turner’s baby bump.

It isn’t known when the due date is, or what they are planning on naming their second child.
