Inside quaint cottage transformed by former artist's murals and mosaics

A unique four-bed cottage which previously belonged to an artist has hit the market - and as you would hope, he made sure to leave his mark.

The charming character cottage, which can be found in the quaint village of Edmonthorpe, has four-bedrooms, two bathrooms, a workshop and a conservatory to the rear.

But what makes the property so special is the artwork left behind by Stephen Wallhead.

Mosaics and murals, and a blue plaque on the exterior of the property marks the fact that Stephen himself created the work.

The property which is listed by Newton Fallowell on Zoopla for £440,000, has a lot to offer including the integrated handcrafted designs.

Its listing says: "The cottage was home to a well known local artist and potter named Stephen Wallhead, he lived and worked from this home for a number of years, adding small but wonderful elements of his work to the property creating an original home.

"All mosaics and original tiles referred to are Steven’s work."

To the front of the property is a single detached garage, which, can easily be transformed with a little TLC, as well as enough space to park three cars.

As you enter the property, you're instantly greeted with a taste of Stephen's work as the entrance hall features some of his mosaic designs.

The dining room offers a log burner with stone surround and beautifully hand-made mosaic tiles on the chimney breast.

It also boasts a large garden (Zoopla)

The door to the lounge has been hand-painted by Stephen, and the splashback tiles in the quaint kitchen were also created by the artist.

Upstairs there are four bedrooms, two large doubles and two large singles as well as a large family bathroom.

To the rear of the house is a conservatory, and a spacious garden, where plant pots and mosaic steps lead the way to the lawn.

Mature shrubs and plants also surround its perimetre.
