It's been years since Zayn Malik and Perrie Edwards have been paired together, with the long separated couple now having moved on and had children with new partners.
The musical couple gathered lots of attention during their romance, which saw them buy a house together and Zayn tattoo Perrie onto his body.
Perrie has happily moved on with footballer Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, who she started dating in 2016 and shares baby Axel Oxlade-Chamberlain with.
But with the news that Zayn is "really upset" with how he left his then fiancée via text years ago, attention is back on the doomed romance between the two of them.

December 2011
The singers met on The X Factor in what was described as a " match made in heaven."
Perrie was competing in the eighth series of the show in newly formed Little Mix when she met Zayn who was performing during the live shows with One Direction.
May 2012
After months of speculation, Zerrie went official with a very public kiss - confirming that the rumours were true about the pair.
With him being spotted leaving her flat in early hours of the morning, it reached a point that the pair stopped hiding their relationship.

Zayn showed just how serious he was about Perrie by introducing her to his family during Eid.
Taking to Twitter, he shared a snap of his girlfriend rubbing shoulders with his family during the celebrations.
Perrie wore a bindi during the festivities in order to get into the spirit of the festivities.
November 2012
Thrilling fans of the relationship, Zayn and Perrie adopt a puppy which is announced on Twitter.
Hatchi is an adorable first pet for the couple and eventually would become a difficult subject in discussions of who should keep him.
Perrie kept custody of their puppy.
January 2013
Cheating rumours start to circulate around Zayn leading to some trouble in paradise.
The two had enjoyed Christmas together but faced a rocky month as pictures were leaked by a woman called Courtney Webb, who claimed she'd spent the night with Zayn.
The photographs show Zayn asleep in her bed, somehow he managed to soothe Perrie and the two decided to continue their relationship.
June 2013
In an effort to show how committed he was to the relationship, Zayn got a tattoo of Perrie in a cartoon style on his arm.
After his dedication to his girlfriend had come into question it seem to be Zayn's best idea to prove his love.
When Perrie spoke out about the tattoo she admitted that she found it "weird but nice". Zayn would go on to have the tattoo covered up.
August 2013
The tattoo seems to work and just months later it's officially announced that the pair are engaged to be married.
Perrie first showed off her sparkling ring at One Direction's This Is Us premiere.
The couple didn't initially speak to the press about this step but Perrie's mum Debbie was more than happy to speak about their engagement.
She told the Dorset Echo newspaper: "It's official. I'm over the moon. They are really in love."
May 2014
To further show his dedication to his relationship, Zayn buys Perrie's mum a house to live in in an impressive gesture to his almost mother-in-law.
Two years later Zayn would be accused of trying to evict Debbie from the property.
July 2014
Zayn decided to spoil his fiancée by throwing her a £50K birthday party of her dreams as she turns 21.
He hired out a roller-coaster, ferris wheel and other funfair rides at a Hertfordshire country estate in a lavish celebration for the young singer.
She gushed on social media, saying: "I had the best day ever! Thank you everyone who came. I hope you all had a blast. I love you all! 21! Cannot believe it."

The eager couple are forced to postpone their wedding due to difficulties with their hectic schedules.
A source told the Sunday People : “Perrie wanted a big Disney-themed day but the reality is they’ve had to put it back. There isn’t the time to plan a day that will be perfect for the two of them."
March 2015
Zayn is accused of cheating again as pictures surface of him and Love Island's Lauren Richardson holding hands.
Following the pictures are claims from Swedish model Martina Olsson that he had cheated with her too.
Lauren denied that anything had happened but Zayn wasted no time, catching the first flight back home to Perrie to talk to him.
She believed his innocence and the pair went on with their relationship.
May 2015
Perrie makes a radio appearance with her ring notably missing from her finger.
When asked about it, she says it's being clean but jokes that they'll split soon.
She said: "Oh don't worry, tomorrow we'll probably not be together. We'll be separated. I'll be heartbroken, it will all be over.
"(But) you know what, I feel naked, it's horrible, you know when you get used to wearing something ... but no, it's getting cleaned."
August 2015
After leaving One Direction and signing with RCA Records, news breaks that Zayn has called off his engagement to Perrie, leaving her "devastated".
November 2015
Zayn speaks out on his split and denies the rumours that he ended the relationship via a text message.
Speaking to Fader magazine, he says: "I love her [Perrie] a lot, and I always will, and I would never end our relationship over four years like that."
March 2016
Fans slam Zayn for his seeming confession to cheating on Perrie on his song 'She Don't Love Me'.
Outrage sparks up on Twitter as a result of the line, 'I think I know she don't love me, that's why I f*** around.'
October 2016
Perrie reveals that despite his denials, Zayn did leave her via text.
She says: "It was horrible, the worst time in my life. A four-year relationship, two year engagement ended by a simple text message. Just like that. Even though things in my career were going really well, it was incredibly difficult for me."

After splitting from girlfriend and mother of his child Gigi Hadid, Zayn is reported to have spoken about regrets to how he ended things with Perrie.
