Inside Meghan and Harry's exclusive neighbourhood with pizza shop and eucalyptus trees

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry moved to Montecito after stepping back from the Royal Family and their neighbour Ellen DeGeneres has now taken fans on a tour of the area.

The 65-year-old talk show host took to Instagram as she filmed herself driving around the exclusive Californian neighbourhood.

As part of the special tour, Ellen told fans the best places to eat and showed off the huge greenery which residents use to hide their mansions.

"There's a pizza delivery, Rusty's. Very, very good pizza, delicious pizza. If you're in the area, Rusty's," Ellen told fans as she let them in on a neighbourhood secret.

Driving past a road full of eucalyptus trees, Ellen said: "See all these eucalyptus trees, we're on a street in Montecito, which is San Leandro."

She joked how it was "one of the oldest streets in all of America", before confessing: "I don't know if that's true, but it's old because there's some lumps and bumps in it that should be fixed."

The comedian then drove past rows of hedges which she explained were covering some "pretty" houses.

Ellen lives in Montecito with her wife Portia de Rossi and their sprawling home is thought to be worth $49 million (£35.2 million).

Meghan and Harry were lucky enough to get a "pretty good deal" on their home, snapping up the nine-bedroom property for $14.65million (£11.8million) in 2020.

Meghan says her new home makes her "feel free" and is "calm and healing" to live in the luxury home in the gated community in Santa Barbara.

In an interview with The Cut, the 41-year-old gushed over her 18,000-square-foot home, where she lives with Harry, 38, and their children Archie, four, and Lilibet, two.

The property boasts nine bedrooms and 16 bathrooms, as well as a tennis court, tea house and two-bedroom guest house.

There's also a chicken coop, a pool and a pool house, and two palm trees joined together at the bottom of the garden.

Meghan and Harry share an office with a single desk placed in front of a fireplace.

A sitting room includes cosy chairs and rosewater candles from Soho House.

It also houses a grand piano gifted to the couple by actor and director Tyler Perry, who had also allowed them to stay in his Beverly Hills mansion during Covid lockdown in 2020.

Harry and Meghan's home used to be listed on the rental platform Giggster for people to hire out for shoots and events.

The property was used a filming location for the couple's Netflix docuseries, giving fans the chance to see even more details of the home.

In the episodes, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex were seen going about their daily lives as they cooked, worked and entertained their kids.

One scene showed Archie baking with Meghan's niece in the couple's luxurious kitchen.

In another shot, Meghan was seen walking hand-in-hand with Archie in their sprawling garden.
