Inside home that's available to rent for £38k this summer

The ECHO has taken a look inside a home on the Wirral that is available to rent this summer for a whopping £38,000.

The huge property on Bertram Drive in Meols has been listed for attendees of The Open Championship 2023, which is set to take place at The Royal Liverpool Golf Club in Hoylake from Thursday, July 20 to Sunday, July 23.

Known as Pendragon House, the property was built in 1906 and was previously run as a bed and breakfast.

The home, which sleeps upwards of 17 people, is available to rent via Accommodation for the Event, a company specialising in providing accommodation for golf fans around the world.

The £38,000 price tag is for a stay of up to ten days at the property around the dates of The Open, although arrival and departure dates are "flexible".

The house is 1.5 miles from The Royal Liverpool Golf Club and has eight bedrooms, seven of which are en-suite, as well as an additional shared bathroom.

Communal areas include three reception rooms, comprising two lounges and a dining area, a huge kitchen and a stunning garden.

Brian Higgins, chief executive of Accommodation for the Event, told the ECHO it's a privilege to help local families generate income and that people visiting The Open would much rather rent a home to immerse themselves in local culture.

He added: "Being a family person myself, the high income people can make renting out their home can make a wonderful difference."

The Open Championship is the oldest golf tournament in the world and started in 1860. It was first hosted at The Royal Liverpool Golf Club in the 1890s.
