Inside Graham Norton’s love life – from exes who hated public eye to 'secret' wedding

The Graham Norton Show is set to return for its 30th series tonight, Friday, September 30 at 10.35pm on BBC One.

Some of the biggest names' in Hollywood and beyond are set to grace the show this season, from Jamie Lee Curtis appearing to promote her last ever outing of the Halloween film franchise to Oscar winner Rami Malek as well as Margot Robbie, Christian Bale and John David Washington, among many others.

Ahead of the popular talk show's new series, here's a look at Graham Norton's love life from living with RuPaul's Drag Race star to marrying Scottish filmmaker in a hush-hush wedding.

Who is Graham Norton married to?

Graham Norton married in a private ceremony with his just his close loved ones and some celeb pals in attendance at Bantry House in West Cork in July this year.

The Irish TV host had kept the identity of his mystery partner and details of their relationship under wraps even after marriage.

However, the Daily Mail later reported that Norton's husband was none other than Scottish filmmaker Jonothan McLeod.

The pair who were reportedly spotted together for the first time in December 2019, were also seen stepping out together a few months after Norton's secret wedding.

Not much is known about their relationship including how the pair met or when they began dating.

Graham Norton has kept his relationship with his husband out of the spotlight, however, he has been open about several of his previous relationships.

Graham Norton dated American Scott Michaels from 1996, before splitting up in 2000.

From early to mid 2000s he was in a relationship with RuPaul's Drag Race star Tina Burner – whose real name is Kristian Seeber – dating for five years and breaking up in 2006.

Norton spoke of his relationship with Seeber in biography The Lives And Loves Of A He Devil.

On their ill-fated decision to move in together, he said: "The experiment lasted for about six months and it was a disaster.

"I realise that even to a perfect stranger the outcome would have been glaringly obvious, but when you are in the middle of something and you are desperate for it to work, you'll try anything."

Seeber also spoke of their relationship, saying that Norton is " a great guy," who has never let the pressures of fame get to him.

The TV host then dated fashion consultant Trevor Patterson from 2010 to 2013, before getting together with music marketing consultant Andrew Smith. He eventually parted ways with Smith in 2015.

In 2018, Norton was also rumoured to be dating a crew member from The Graham Norton show.

However, he spoke of wanting to live a single life around the same time, saying : "I would prefer to live alone for the rest of my life rather than live with towels that were folded incorrectly.”

Norton has been candid about his belief that fame was a factor in his breakups.

He explained that his partners often felt like they didn’t have a role when he showed up to events.

He said: “Every man – no matter how young or fey – has something of the alpha in him," adding that most of his former partners "loathed" going to events with him as they felt they hadn’t "earned it for themselves."
