Injuries pile up for Raiders OT Trent Brown

Raiders offensive tackle Trent Brown left Sunday’s loss against the Vikings with an injury, but the sore knee he battled during practice last week wasn’t the issue.

It was Brown’s ankle this time, according to The Athletic’s Jimmy Durkin.

Offensive tackle Brandon Parker entered the game in Brown’s place at right tackle on Sunday. The Raiders also have offensive tackle David Sharpe on the roster, though he was inactive last week.

To lose Brown, even for a game, would be a hurtful blow to the offense. He’s a massive free-agent signing for the Raiders in more ways than one. Brown is the highest-paid offensive lineman in history, and he measures 6-foot-8 and 380 pounds. He’s shown the ability to match his billing thus far.

Brown played hurt against the Vikings, showing toughness. And he knows his team needs him on the field if they’re to improve on their loss in Minnesota. The Raiders’ next four games are on the road, including a contest in London against the Bears and former Raiders defensive end, Khalil Mack.
