When Arizona Cardinals cornerback Robert Alford broke his leg in a training camp practice in August, the timeline for his return was not exactly known, though some thought he could be back for the second half of the season.
It is Week 10 and it hasn’t happened yet, and the team isn’t sure if he will come back.
Head coach Kliff Kingsbury updated Alford’s status when he was on Arizona Sports 98.7 FM this week.
“Robert is a guy where we’ll kind of wait and see,” he said. “He’s walking around now, and from where he was to where he is currently is a big step.”
Kingsbury didn’t know exactly what Alford’s status is but he was both hopeful and not too hopeful.
“We’re hoping to get something out of him, but if not, that’s kind of how it goes,” he said.
The last I saw him, he was walking but had a definite limp after a game. It sounds like the best-case scenario is he is able to play any games this season but it sounds like a real possibility he might not play at all this season.
