Influenza drug Avigan to be offered abroad for free

Chief Cabinet Secretary Yoshihide Suga announced at a press conference on Friday that the influenza medication Avigan, which is hoped to be effective against infectious diseases caused by the new coronavirus, will be offered free of charge to countries that wish to obtain it.

Suga went on to say, "At this time, we have requests from about 30 countries, and preparations are being made to provide the drug free of charge.
