A TikTok influencer has shared her top tips on how to clean your headboard - and revealed why it's a necessity.
Cleaning icon @cleanwithabbi, working with Time4Sleep, revealed that almost half of people in the UK didn't know they should be cleaning it.
A whopping 43 per cent were letting dust and grime build up, but with Abbi's help you can be armed with all the knowledge you need to get it clean as a whistle.
She advises hoovering off the dust first, before wiping it down with diluted fabric detergent and spraying it with a headboard spray by Febreze.

To leave your bed looking as good as new, founder and director at Time4Sleep, Jonathan Warren, has teamed up with antimicrobial expert at Addmaster, Paul Morris, to share more top tips on how to properly clean your headboard.
Paul says: "The fabric on upholstered headboards offers the ideal conditions for several types of skin bacteria that break down sweat on the body.
"We’re more aware of bacteria found on bed linen but as data shows that 1 in 3 of people have never cleaned their headboard, it could be a much larger source of bacteria than we think.”

The team added that before you get to cleaning your headboard, it’s vital to know what fabric it’s made from and the products and tools that can be used on the surface.
Jonathan added: "It can be difficult to identify the fabric on your headboard from a simple glance but the letter found on the label will give you the key information.
"The most common label found on upholstered fabric headboards is W which means that the fabric can withstand water-based solvents or foam upholstery cleaners.
"If you are looking to clean your headboard yourself, make sure to always trial a cleaning technique on an inconspicuous area first."

Using a hoover is a great first step for headboard cleaning regardless of the fabric and is the best tool to pick up dust, bacteria and light dirt.
Jonathan added: "Simply grab your hoover and run it gently across your headboard. This will pick up any dust or dirt that is clinging to the fabric fibres.
"Aside from improving the appearance of your headboard, the hoover will also collect bacteria that can contribute to allergies and asthma and negatively affect your sleep."
He added that if you come across a light stain that the hoover can’t simply dust away then all you have to do is make your own cleaning solution to leave your headboard sparkling.
Jonathan said: "To make a cleaning solution for a stain on an upholstered fabric headboard, mix lukewarm water with a small amount of detergent. You will have the right amount of detergent when you see bubbles form in the water.
"Apply the solution to a cloth and work it into the stain, allow it to completely dry before vacuuming any residue - you can use a hairdryer to speed up the drying process too."
