BEGUSARAI: Indian Oil Company Limited (IOCL) chairman S M Vaidya on Saturday visited the Barauni Refinery premises to assess the progress of various ongoing expansion projects on Barauni Refinery premises.

The IOCL chairman, during his two-day stay here on Friday and Saturday, gave several directions to senior officials as well as the representatives of the project management company to ensure its safe and timely completion. The completion of the projects will enhance the existing crude processing capacity of 6 million metric tonne per annum (MMTPA) of the refinery to 9 MMTPA.

The IOCL chairman also visited Atmospheric Vacuum Unit (AVU)- IV project.

"It is highly imperative that the project is completed within the scheduled timeframe, safely and at the stipulated cost," said Vaidya in a statement issued by the corporate communication department of the refinery on Sunday.

He also visited the Indjet project which would produce aviation turbine fuel (ATF) under indigenous technology developed by Indian Oil R&D division.
