Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday posted on X that he was “happy to receive” US Secretary of State Marco Rubio in New Delhi, noting that the two sides discussed sustained progress in the India–US Comprehensive Global Strategic Partnership along with key regional and global peace and security issues.
The meeting came as Rubio held wide-ranging talks with the Indian leadership, with discussions centred on energy security, trade tensions, defence cooperation and Indo-Pacific strategy. According to US Ambassador to India Sergio Gor, the talks were “productive” and focused on deepening cooperation in security, trade and critical technologies, reinforcing India’s role as a vital partner for the United States.
