Incredible footage captured over Langar as fire rips through industrial estate

Drone footage taken at night has shown the monstrous scale of the blaze at Langar Airfield industrial estate.

The aerial view shows giant flames reaching into the night sky and the blue lights of emergency services can be seen as firefighters work to control the blaze.

Fire crews have worked through the night since reports first came in at around 2.40pm on Thursday, May 21.

Plumes of thick black smoke made up of 'unidentified' chemicals could been seen across Nottinghamshire and as far as Bradgate Park in Leicester - more than 20 miles away.

A spokesman has confirmed this morning (May 22) firefighters are still working at the scene and have now swapped over shifts.

There are currently three appliances on scene, as well as an aerial ladder platform and high volume pump.

Concerns regarding asbestos being present have now been "downgraded" but residents are still being advised to keep inside.

Eye-witnesses also reported hearing explosion sounds originating from the scene.

The incident is still ongoing and we are covering live updates as we get them over on our blog.
