An adorable German shepherd just can't seem to work out why a tiny baby isn't up for playing fetch in this hilarious video.
The cute footage sees the dog, called Brody, keen to start the man's best friend bond a little too early.
In the clip posted to TikTok by @keepingupwiththekokals , the dog is seen seen staring intently at the ball he's put down next to the two-month-old baby.
And he's poised, ready to spring after the ball at any minute.
But he still hasn't quite worked out why the little tot can't throw it just yet.
“Brody, we have been over this,” the dog’s owner tells him, as Brody throws an exasperated look at the camera as if asking her why his new friend won’t play with him.
“He’s too young!” his owner explains, and the unimpressed pup doesn’t look too happy about the excuse.
“Sorry bud,” the video’s caption reads, “two months old is still too young to throw your toy”.
The funny video has been viewed more than six million times on the video sharing app, with viewers loving Brody's determination.
One TikTok user wrote: “Mom, it’s broken, please fix the baby, WE have already went over this!”
Another commented: “I don’t want excuses mom. I want results.”
A third joked: “At two months I was fetching, he needs to hurry up!”
Others called for the owner to post an update in a couple of years’ time, when the baby will have grown enough to be able to throw the ball.
Brody isn’t the only dog trying to help his owners out when it comes to parenting.
This adorable pup has thrown herself into nanny duties by bringing nappies over when it’s changing time, in another cute video posted on TikTok by @wrigleyandlulu .
The clip gives a glimpse behind the scenes at the dog’s training for the big moment before the baby arrives, and then shows her hard work being put to the test when her owner holds out her hand while changing the new baby.
Knowing it’s her time to shine, the dog dutifully trots in with a nappy in her mouth.
Brody and his young fetching buddy might just go on to have a friendship like this toddler and her dog , who TikTok users gushed over when @karaleapior posted the heart-warming clip of the youngster bossing around her obedient pup on a walk.
Toddler Frankie calls her dog Benji “my sweet baby” while trying to patiently encourage him to turn around, which she finally manages by the end of the clip.
