Illinois woman charged in shooting streamed on Facebook Live

CHICAGO _ An Illinois woman has been charged with a wounding a woman in a shooting that was streamed on Facebook Live.

Austin Labritney, 29, turned herself in to Chicago police around 4:45 p.m. Wednesday, less than two hours after the shooting was broadcast live and widely shared on the social media platform.

Labritney, of University Park, is accused of shooting a 27-year-old woman in the shoulder after they got into an argument around 2:55 p.m.

The woman who was shot was broadcasting on Facebook while she argued with Labritney, who was in a car in the Parkway Gardens neighborhood on the South Side, police said.

Labritney took out a gun and fired, according to police.

Labritney is charged with aggravated battery by discharging a firearm.
