Swimmer Rikako Ikee, who has qualified for the Tokyo Olympics following her battle with leukemia, will not compete in individual races, instead focusing on relay events, the Japan Swimming Federation announced Monday when it released the lineup for its athletes at the Games.

The schedules for the relay and individual events overlapped, and apparently the federation took into consideration the physical strain that would have on the swimmer.

Ikee entered the 400-meter relay in Tokyo, but is also expected to participate on the 400 medley relay team, with its roster spots to be finalized while the Games are ongoing. She might also participate in the mixed medley relay, a new race at the upcoming Olympics.

The highest number of races entered came on the men's side as Daiya Seto is set to swim in three: the 200 individual medley, the 400 individual medley and the 200 butterfly.

Shoma Sato and Ryuya Mura, who were selected to swim on the men's side, are entered in both the 200 breaststroke and the 100 breaststroke.

Anna Konishi, who is expected to enter the women's medley relay, is also to compete in the 100 backstroke.
