Heads up if you own a 2026 Aprilia RSV4, RSV4 Factory, Tuono V4, or Tuono V4 1100 Factory in the US. Aprilia USA is recalling all 2026 Aprilia V4 models due to an issue that could arise within the rear taillight cluster. If this happens, the turn signals and/or rear taillight could stop working with no warning. While this wouldn't affect a rider's operation of the bike, it could definitely affect how well other road traffic sees and responds to actions that the rider takes on that bike, so it's still very much a rider safety issue.
According to Aprilia's records, this issue affects a total of 541 motorcycles, which represents 100% of the population sold in the US. The official recall report was filed with the US National Highway Traffic Safety Administration on September 11, 2025.
The cause of this issue stems from two of four possible wires within the light cluster not being soldered to the turn signal led circuit board. This was done on purpose, because they were not used. However, because these wires are still present and are loose, they could inadvertently cause flickering or other lighting inconsistencies as they move around. Aprilia notes that so far, nine separate warranty claims have been filed worldwide with regard to this issue.
As for any warning signs that riders might see that indicate this is a problem, the recall report notes that flickering and possible power consumption even while your key is turned to the Off position might be noticed.
Please note, the recall report does not specifically mention a significant battery drain, but from previous personal experience on a motorcycle that I have owned, that is a definite possible outcome of prolonged power consumption while your key is turned to the Off position on any bike. You don't want phantom power consumption on any motorcycle; that's a good way to end up with a dead battery and needing a jump.
Since July 11, 2025, Aprilia has been utilizing components that fix the issue that is present in the ones used on the recalled machines. Aprilia will notify its dealer network about this recall campaign on September 19, 2025, and plans to send owner notification letters between September 26, 2025 and October 10, 2025.
Under the terms of this recall, Piaggio Group Americas (parent company of Aprilia USA) will perform recall services through its authorized Aprilia dealer network. Both the left and right turn signals will be replaced as part of this recall, at no charge to the customer.
