Smoking a joint as a cop watches - not a wise move

A man was arrested after being caught smoking a joint in front of an unmarked police car.

Officers spotted the man behind the wheel of a car in Bolton on Thursday evening (July 23).

He was pulled over on Weston Street in Great Lever, where he failed a roadside drug test for cannabis.

The man was arrested and taken into custody at Swinton station.

Following the incident, officers from Greater Manchester Police's traffic unit took to Twitter to share a word of warning.

They said: "Smoking a joint in front of a unmarked traffic car is never going to end well.....

"Stopped on Weston Street Bolton by #XT14 the driver of this Toyota Rav4 would also fail a roadside drug test.

"Male arrested and taken to Swinton custody."
