Idris Elba hopes to collaborate on song with Adele after pair met at Brits Awards

Showbiz royalty loves nothing more than fawning over, er, showbiz royalty.

Step forward superstar actor Idris Elba, who reveals that he’s hoping to collaborate with superstar singer Adele.

Idris, 49, presented her with Album Of The Year at The Brit Awards and, as he begins to make waves as a DJ, he says working with Adele is his dream.

He explains: “If one day I make a record and Adele says, ‘I kind of like it’, I will definitely build up the courage and say, ‘Hey, Adele, you wanna do a collab?’

“I think I have got to earn some more stripes before that happens.”

Adele, 33, is also an admirer of Idris and previously said she would like to see him replace Daniel Craig as the next James Bond.

He sent fans into a frenzy back in 2018 when he tweeted a selfie with the caption, “My name’s Elba, Idris Elba”, sparking speculation that he was being lined up for the part.

The showbiz hunk is currently in London finishing the Luther film. “I am three-quarters of the way into the first Luther movie,” he tells Fox TV.

“It has been a long time coming. It is dark. It is a tough film to make [but] I am in a good mood today because I have got a day off.”

Hopefully, he’ll be in an even better mood when Adele reads about his dream collaboration. Make it happen, lady!
