Much-loved Glasgow burger bar Ad Lib will soon reopen after a substantial refurb.
The American diner has been a fixture in the city centre since 1997 and will throw open its doors once more in the New Year after a £200,000 renovation.
The new setup includes a retro jukebox and yoghurt ice cream machine while a revamped menu will include chicken and cauliflower wings and bourbon BBQ brisket, alongside the classic American monster burgers and a number of tasty veggie and vegan options.
The team behind Ad Lib say: "It may be all change in The White House and for one great Glasgow institution there’s also been a shake-up behind closed doors. Ad Lib, the American Bar and Diner and one of Glasgow’s longest serving and most-loved bars and restaurants is undergoing a massive refurbishment.
"Located on Hope Street, and a stone’s throw from Central Station, the American-themed restaurant has been a favourite fixture in the city centre since 1997. It will re-open in the new year after a £200,000 stateside inspired investment which saw the extensive renovation work commence in late September."
General Manager Mark Brennan commented: “With a new design, new menu and new feel, channelling the best of the US, we’re excited to be re-opening next year”.
He added “We’ve installed a retro jukebox, new seating, a superb yoghurt ice cream machine and a few more surprises. We can’t wait to welcome back all our regulars and new customers.”
Chef Mark Balarsky added: “We’re really excited about our new menu which features all the Ad Lib favourites – our tacos, grill and our best-selling Southern Fried Chicken Burger.
“Our new wing bar features chicken and cauliflower with a choice of sauces. Add in some Texas BBQ chicken, bourbon BBQ brisket and BBQ roast roots all served with a choice of dirty sides and sauces. You can ad lib to your heart’s desire!”
