Iceland shoppers 'need' new £2 snack inspired by nostalgic 90s crisps

Those who grew up in the 90s, or even the early 00s, will probably have fond memories of Space Raiders crisps that you could get for just 10p.

And if you were a huge fan, then get ready to be excited, as frozen foods supermarket Iceland is set to drop a brand new £2 snack inspired by the retro tuck shop favourite - and it has got shoppers excited.

The supermarket chain took to its Facebook account to share that the new Space Raiders Onion Rings in pickled onion would be landing online from January 29 and in-store from January 30.

Iceland wrote: "If you love Pickled Onions we have something very special for you. They are out of this world, literally! Space Raiders Pickled Onion Rings From the freezer! Landing on planet Earth very soon!"

The alien head shaped crisps where a staple snack for a whole generation of kids who would grab them for their school packed lunch. Available in five different flavours, pickled onion was usually everyone's favourite.

While the retro snack is not available in-stores yet, there are quite a few fans who cannot wait to get their hands on them and are already planning a trip to Iceland.

"Oooo! I need some of these!", said one enthusiastic shopper.

"Good god , need to try these!!!", exclaimed a second.

"Omg yes game changer. I need these 100%", praised a third.

"Pickled onion space raiders are so moreish", replied a fourth.

"Can't wait for these love picked onions", exclaimed a fifth.

While the Space Raiders Pickled Onion Flavour Onion Rings are not available to buy just now, nostalgic shoppers can grab the Space Raiders Pickled Onion Flavour Potato Shapes from Iceland for £1.50.
