Iceland launches Christmas dinner for under £20 that can be cooked in air fryer

Getting in all of your essentials for Christmas dinner can often be a huge expense, but even more so now with the soaring cost of living crisis.

If, like many others, you are looking into cutting back on spending during the festive season this year, then Iceland and The Food Warehouse has you covered with an affordable Christmas dinner that will feed families for less.

The frozen food supermarket giant has launched an entire Christmas dinner feast, complete with trimmings, that will cost less than £20 a head for a family of four, reports HullLive.

Serving four people at just £4.35 each, the supermarket's Christmas dinner range can also be cooked in the air fryer instead of the oven, meaning you could cut back on your energy costs as well.

The air fryer friendly items include Iceland's Iceland’s Luxury Extra Tasty Turkey Joint with Bacon (£10.00, 1kg), which can be cooked in in 1 hour and 10mins.

Iceland’s Pigs in Blankets (£2.40, 12pck) can also be cooked in the air fryer for 10 minutes, while Iceland’s Roast Potatoes at £1 cook in an air fryer in 22 minutes.

You can further skip out on the added cost of using an electric and gas hob by popping Iceland's Yorkshire puddings, frozen peas, carrots and sprouts, all £1 each, in the microwave for just one minute.

You can also complete your festive menu with Iceland's six-pack of Iceland mince pies at £1.20.

Iceland's air fryer Christmas dinner comes just as the kitchen appliance has gained significant popularity during the cost of living crisis, mainly due to its lower running costs.

Research has found that high running costs of many default cooking appliances could be costing customers more in energy than needed, with the average electric cooker costing 87p per day to run compared to a microwave costing just 8p. As a result, households that switch to more energy efficient cooking appliances such as microwaves, air fryers and slow cookers could save up to £426 per year.

Products to feed a family of four for less than £20 this Christmas include:

  • Iceland Luxury Extra Tasty Stuffed Turkey Joint with Bacon (£10.00, 1kg)
  • Iceland Roast Potatoes (£1.00, 907g)
  • Iceland Pigs in Blankets (£2.40, 12pk)
  • Iceland Yorkshire Puddings (£1.00, 20pk)
  • Iceland Garden Peas (£1.00, 800g)
  • Iceland Button Sprouts (£1.00, 900g)
  • Iceland Carrot Battons (£1.00, 800g)
  • Iceland Mince Pies (£1.20, 6pk)
