ICC World Cup: Defeat to India a learning for us, says Pakistan coach

AHMEDABAD: Pakistan head coach Grant Eric Bradburn termed the seven-wicket defeat against India on Saturday as a "good learning experience in playing in Indian connditions".

Reacting to the defeat, Bradburn said, “We were sitting OK at the halfway point. I wouldn’t say it’s where we wanted to be. I would have liked to be a little more aggressive today. As everyone is aware, we were wanting to bring more out of our players. I don’t think we showed that really enough in the first half.”

He added, “Part of the collapse was the fact that we are learning all the time. Everyday is a good learning day. Black soil, red soil, mixed soil — we are learning all about that. We saw today how difficult it is to start an innings. We had a number of guys who got underway but didn’t finish the job.

"We want to be a 330 plus team. We have shown that in recent times. At the halfway stage, that was certainly within our sights. When you get in, you go big. And, it is difficult to start on the black soil.

"We’ve certainly learnt that.”
