I was one of those who had the sign-in issue, but I was able to curcumvent the problem by clicking on the link on the Zoom page that says "If you don't see a dialog, click the 'Launch Meeting' below." That one worked.	Good to know!

Hi guys: is it correct that O'Neill recommended to only buy on up days? Care to elaborate why? Also, Up on the indexes and the particular stock to buy or the index can be up and the name a bit low? TXS!	First question: incorrect. I am certain Bill would buy stocks on down days. Especially stocks bucking market. There is a story in his book about how he saw a stock that was up on a bad day (Control Data I think?) and he recognized that strength and immediately bought the stock
Good Morning IBD Live. It is my understanding that IBD considers a stock extended at 7%-8% above the 50 SMA. I have noticed that IBD has been highlighting stocks that are double digit % above the 50 SMA. For example, $AVGO and $GEV were highlighted on yesterday's SMT. Has IBD changed its thinking on extension above the 50 SMA? Maybe different metrics since we are in a power trend? Thanks	Some folks look at extension vs. 50-day for buying while others do not. It depends on each trader's style and risk tolerance. Risk management is the common denominator.

FYI outage - I tried clicking "chat with an Expert" on Live homepage & when I chose 'connect with Agent', things seemed to freeze up. Should be investigated for any issues there.	Very strange. I just tested the chat with an expert functionality on my end. It is functioning normally and not freezing up. Did you try clearing your cache and restarting your browser? I've said this before, but yesterday really drove this home. In the show Billions, there is an on staff psychologist for the traders to put them in the best head space for the trading situation. With the Moody's downgrade yesterday was a day where I was glad I was able to get on IBD Live after a few attempts because your steadying influence was appreciated. Please discuss when to buy stocks off the 200 day MA. I Was surprised that David Chung said it is OK to buy long term leaders off the 200 day (Like FICO) and yesterday I learned that Scott was buying ALAB off the 200 day MA. I am surprised. ED, do you know if the TESLA robo-taxi will be available for sale to the general public	I do not know that. Musk says that. But he always says that. The data don't support that happening anytime soon. But that's clearly what's driving TSLA.
Yesterday's outage: I cleared intenet history, cleared caches, restarted browser, then restarted my computer, tried a different browser, and finally, I reset my wifi and reinstalled Zoom. Eventually connected with an agent who told me it was a problem on your side.	Our engineers investigated internally and escalated with Zoom's engineers, and it was actually on Zoom's side. They identified the root cause of the isue and implemented the necessary changes to prevent it from recurring. I'm so sorry you had to do all of that yesterday to no avail. We were very frustrated with Zoom as well!

Every investor is an indvidualist. What works for you is fine. But the basic rules of CAN SLIM are still working.	I agree, the IBD methodology is a great foundation and each trader can tweak/supplement with what works best for them. Risk management is always the common denominator, but other than that a lot of gray that's open to interpretation!

Hi again - can we get an update on status of power trend pls?	Power trend is on and will stay on until the 21-day crosses below the 50-day. But that doesn't mean traders shouldn't take action using other signals before that happens because that would take a while to trigger
PLTR looks weak. Is it warning sign for growth?	PLTR is pausing around a buy point after a big run - on a day when the market is falling slightly. That's letting moving averages catch up a bit.

Hood seems like a handle to me would you have considered getting in even though the handle is too deep?	HOOD did have a handle within a DEEP double-bottom base. Now it's moving past a lil' pause. FYI - I have a HOOD position.
I get a daily email reminding me of the upcoming Live show. Ed - your thoughts on TW please - thanks	Setting up again - but ugly selling to start the base and a high-volume drop to start the handle. Reduced market volatility might hurt TW, other exchange/market-y stocks.
With RBC, if you look at past breakouts, they hardly last very long before giving it back, but… if you look at how it behaves at the 200-day, it touches there frequently and gets VERY consistent support there. I think that's why David is right to buy it at support.	Definitely a stair stepper.
PGR has been a slow and steady one and I sell option verticals around the price to have it be an almost Chris G. type of stock... lol.. just kidding Chris.	Yawn...
David - my insurance in Dallas is also with Travelers. 50% increase in 2024. 30% increase this year. Increased my deductible 3X to bring the premium down.	That's what I did a couple years ago. My insurance barely went up this year. Also I've only had one claim in 34 years, so the higher deductible makes a lot of sense.

How do the panelists use the 20% sell rule (generally). Mr. Vandenbord talked about it the other day. Interested in the comparison/differences.	In a strong market like this, I'm willing to give my 20% movers a bit more room. But I do like the rule a lot because Bill O'Neil had a ton of research that showed stocks generally starting to consolidate and build new bases after a gain of 20% to 25% from the buy point.
Can ED or David comment on WLDN? Thnx	Acting well. Extended from 43.34 buy point but 50 is a buy point from a larger consolidation. Might trade a little thin.
Is AXON actionable here?	Technically, the buy was on May 8. Even though it's still in the 5% buy zone from conventional entry of 715.99, seems a little stretched to me. In some cases like this, I've started with a very small position (i.e. 2.5%)
Any thoughts on CRDO?	another solid name for the Watchlist. Just waiting for a pause. Huge move in recent weeks (with one-day consolidations along the way)

David, speaking of insurance stocks PLMR just keeps going up. Btw, I had the same issue with Liberty Mutual here in Boston. They raised my home insurance rates about 20%.	I have PLMR for earthquake insurance. I have to find a way into the stock.

Recently went home to Australia and BYDs were everywhere - they look awesome	Australia is a VERY interesting market to watch. A rich nation with no "domestic" automaker. So it's sort of a neutral playing field.
XIACY has EVs that look a bit like a Porsches. They are beating out the Tesla Model Y in terms of technology. Incredible looking car. Apparently an executive at Ford has the XIACY version of the Model Y and loves it.	Going to be a big hit.
I heard BYD was in Italy 2 years ago. . My relatives still buy Italian cars.	Well, BYD making a much bigger push now. Export capacity a LOT higher than six months ago. Hungary plant (and then Turkey plant) will let BYD avoid big EU tariffs.

Doesn't BYD have a truck plant or bus plant in the U.S?	Outskirts of broader LA metro - bus plant in Lancaster. There's no doubt that if Trump allowed China EV makers to set up in the U.S. (something he brought up during the 2024 campaign) that BYD would jump at the chance.

Why is it that BYDDF doesn't have a composite rating listed?	BYD isn't listed in the U.S. - it's over the counter. OTC stocks - XIACY too - don't have a Composite Rating. But, BYDDF clearly would have a very high CR given its 97 RS rating and 99 RS rating.
PLTR, add to at this point?	We're holding a 1/2 position on Leaderboard and haven't raised it yet as volume has dried up in the stock.
