Ian Wright tells Jurgen Klopp to sign midfielder 'tailor-made' for Liverpool

Former Arsenal striker Ian Wright believes Yves Bissouma is 'tailor-made' for Liverpool and has urged the Reds to make a move for the Brighton midfielder.

The 24-year-old has been linked with an exit from the Amex Stadium this summer as a result of his strong performances last campaign which steered the Seagulls to Premier League safety.

Bissouma made 104 tackles and 64 interceptions last campaign and was the only player to make more than 100 tackles and in excess of 50 interceptions.

His physical presence in the middle of the park has alerted the likes of Arsenal and Manchester United, who are reportedly keen to strengthen in this department.

But Wright believes Liverpool should be in the hunt for the Malian international, describing Bissouma as a perfect fit for Jurgen Klopp's side.

“Yves Bissouma at Brighton for me, he’s sensational. You watch him this week and his numbers, he had eight ball recoveries, two take-ons, five out of six tackles, five interceptions. Watch his highlights, he’s an exceptional six, an exceptional eight and an exceptional 10. He does all of those roles,” he said when speaking on the Wrighty’s House Podcast.

"He is absolutely brilliant. I feel he is tailor-made for Liverpool. What they wanted from Naby Keita is exactly what Bissouma can do for them. If they can get him, it goes again for Liverpool.”

Bissouma has two years remaining on his current Brighton contract and manager Graham Potter recently insisted that he is 'happy' at the club.

Addressing the future of the former Lille midfielder earlier this week, the Brighton boss said : "He’s enjoying his football, he showed his qualities at the weekend – I thought he was fantastic.

"You can’t control what people say from the outside, it’s talk, but he’s happy with us and we will keep working with him."
