Ian Wright names the Man United player that Arsenal will have to keep quiet at Old Trafford

Ian Wright has explained why Arsenal will have to pay close attention to Marcus Rashford when the Gunners travel to Manchester United this coming weekend.

The Gunners fell to their third league defeat of the season after Leicester's 1-0 victory at the Emirates on Sunday.

A second half Jamie Vardy goal was enough to hand Brendan Rodgers' side all three points, after the Gunners missed a series of chances in the first 45 minutes.

Arsenal take on United next, with the Red Devils responding well to a 6-1 hammering at the hands of Tottenham at the start of this month.

United then beat Newcastle 4-1 and have since defeated Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League and shared a stalemate with Chelsea at the weekend.

Rashford scored goals in the aforementioned wins over Newcastle and PSG and former Arsenal striker Wright is expecting the 22-year-old England international to pose a substantial threat at Old Trafford on Sunday.

This is on the back of a strong cameo from Vardy at the Emirates and Wright believes Rashford could replicate that counter-attacking threat.

“You look at Manchester United as well who are another team that will want to play on the break,” Wright told Premier League Productions.

“You’re going to need to be able to pass through them, be able to break them down. Manchester United will do the same thing [as Leicester] and they’ve got even better players going forward, more than just Vardy.

“It’s a tough one, we knew Leicester were going to be tough and we know Manchester United are going to be tough.

“With the counter-attacking, you look at Arsenal and you can see what happened with Vardy there tonight. Rashford could cause us problems.”

United will be focused on the Arsenal encounter later this week as the attention is on the Champions League at the moment, with RB Leipzig to face the Reds on Wednesday in the prestigious competition.

Arsenal host Dundalk in the Europa League on Thursday, as they look to make it two wins out of two after beating Rapid Wien last week.
