Ian Garry has called for a dual appearance with Conor McGregor on a UFC card upon the 33-year-old's return from injury.
McGregor is currently recovering from a broken leg injury suffered during a second consecutive defeat to Dustin Poirier at UFC 264.
While Garry's young career is on an upwards trajectory having recorded an explosive first round stoppage against Jordan Williams on his UFC debut at the weekend.
And the 23-year-old is keen to make an Irish "takeover" bid with McGregor on the same UFC card upon the pair's return to action.
“We were listening and I’m laughing, there’s a big smile on my face,” Garry told The MMA Hour. “And it was just the fact that, even in that, I could feel that Conor felt motivated by what I had just said.

"He was saying, like, ‘I respect that so much,’ in a sense of like, ‘In my hardest time, I’m coming back from an injury, this has given me motivation.’ And he was like, ‘I’m part of that [Irish] takeover too.’
"I’m like, ‘Hey, let’s get on it, Conor. Let’s get on it.’ Ireland will explode if you put me and him on a card together. So I’m in.
"At the end of the day, he’s the biggest star in the sport, and if he wants to join this takeover, we can do it again. We’ll do it together. But we were listening and it just was phenomenal, the fact that he’s going to take motivation [from me] in any single way.
"The fact that he inspired me and now I can give back any little bit to him is amazing for me. It’s like anything you’ve got, it’s just returned, because you’ve inspired me to be here, and if I can give you any motivation to help you come back, then off you go — just here you go, take it all.
McGregor has slid down the rankings since his latest defeat in July taking ninth position in the lightweight division behind the likes of Islam Makhachev and Dan Hooker.
But he has returned to light boxing training after his injury with promises of making the "greatest comeback ever" when he returns to the cage next year.
As for a potential opponent, many MMA stars have issued a rallying call to face the superstar including Michael Chandler and former two-time rival Nate Diaz.
McGregor endured two gruelling battles with Diaz avenging his previous defeat in their historic rematch back in 2016.
But the Irish star has been told by UFC legend Chael Sonnen to select a lower calibre opponent for his comeback tilt such as retired star Paul Felder.
There is other matches that you could do where all of a sudden you can make up some ground with Conor," Sonnen told his YouTube channel. "Man, I'll throw a name at you. Paul Felder.
"Paul Felder is retired. If Paul Felder came back for Conor McGregor he would lock down into an eight-week training the same as Conor's going to do. It is going to be even. And they're gonna go out and have a match, together that makes a lot of sense."
