Aston Villa star Trezeguet has told Nottingham Forest transfer target Mbaye Diagne that he would be a good fit for an English club.
Trezeguet and Diagne were team-mates at Turkish side Kasimpasa until the pair left, the latter moving to Villa and the former to Galatasaray.
Diagne has been heavily linked with a move to Forest and those rumours were fuelled further when he, unintentionally, shared a post on Instagram with a picture of himself with a Forest badge superimposed on the snap.
The Senegal international has also been linked with Championship rivals Leeds United and Premier League side Watford.
Diagne has been backed to impress on these shores, with the former Juventus striker likely looking for a new club this summer with his loan spell at Club Brugge ending.
He is out of favour at Galatasaray despite having only just signed there in January last year.
"We talk regularly and he (Trezeguet) keeps saying I would thrive in England," Diagne told The Guardian.
"I'm big and strong, I can hold up the ball and lay it off, I'm good in the air and I'm a finisher.
"All I know is that, whether at Galatasaray or somewhere else, I am eager to get back playing and scoring again."
Regarding Diagne's future at Gala, he admits his club are unsure about whether he will stay at the Istanbul side.
"I'm very happy to play for them but I don't know if they intend keeping me," he added.
"I haven't spoken to them yet.
"Some people say they need to get some big earners off the payroll but I don't know who that means.
"If they decide they need to sell me, then I'm sure I'll find somewhere that suits my style."
