‘I was absolutely mortified’: Miami woman asks Delta flight attendant for extra Biscoff cookies after flight. She didn’t expect her response

Social anxiety has left the chat for one Miami woman. Embarrassed to ask a flight attendant for one extra Biscoff, she learned the hard way that Delta crews treat cookie requests like a full-scale rescue mission. What she thought would be a quick “hey, got any extras?” turned into a borderline SWAT operation of snack retrieval. The worst part? She had to stand at the aircraft door, mortified and waving goodbye to other passengers while flight attendants tore through drawers.

What are Delta Biscoff Cookies?

Maybe some people don’t get the hype, but thousands of frequent travelers do. Back in 2022, Condé Nast Traveler explored the popularity of these small cookies. They’re described in the article as “a type of spiced shortbread cookie found in the Netherlands and Belgium and some other northern European countries. They are typically made with ingredients like ginger, cinnamon, nutmeg, clove, and cardamom, and are associated with the Christmas holidays—akin to our gingerbread.” The article even shares what might be the origin of the name: a portmanteau of biscuit and coffee.

More than just a typical in-flight snack, Biscoff fans crave the cookies in every gathering. One frequent traveler even asked on the r/Delta subreddit where to get enough cookies for their wedding. Even news sites like CNN and Yahoo have written about the famous cookies. Now the hype doesn’t seem overexaggerated. After all, the TikTok proves it.

What Happened When She Asked for the Biscoff?

Jhany’s (@jhanyalexandra) story has hit the Biscoff microcosm. The almost two-minute clip has 124,000 views and 200 comments. She begins the funny anecdote by saying, “I was just absolutely mortified on Delta Airlines. I’m in town to visit my best friend and I always grab some of the Biscoff cookies for her. I didn’t grab any this time, so on my way out, I ask the flight attendant very kindly. I was like, ‘Do you mind–like if you have any around here can I have some? I forgot to bring some for my best friend.'”

What happens next is something out of a sitcom.

Jhany says the flight attendant responds with, “Oh my God, of course!” and starts rifling through all the drawers. Jhany tells her that she doesn’t have to do that, but the kind attendant insists. Next thing she knows, the pilot has joined the conversation. He asks what’s going on, and the attendant tells him, to which he replies, “Fair.” Jany then says, “Oh, so it’s serious?” She tells the pilot sorry, but her best friend says the cookies taste better from the air and the pilot agrees, saying, “She’s right.”

She asks for backup

The hullabaloo continues, and the flight attendant still can’t find any. Then, she comes up with a great idea: she “grabs the phone and starts calling the attendants from the back of the plane.” Suddenly, it’s like a rescue operation. The attendant asks them to meet her at a certain aisle and leaves Jhany up in front. Jhany makes sure to comment: “Mind you, people are getting off the plane. Like I’m definitely off to the side while people are getting off the plane.”

In a more interesting turn, Jhany now stands alone at the door of the aircraft while the attendant goes on the rescue mission. Before she leaves, the attendant tells her, “I’m gonna go get the cookies. You stay here and greet people.”

Jhany says she did a terrible job at it because she was so embarrassed. Jhany says the attendant then returns with a “handful” of Biscoff cookies and shows them to the camera. She says, “There’s more in my bag.”

Jhany ends the story by saying how she will never let her friend live it down and how that’s why she always flies with Delta. The text overlay of the video shows: “I did not know the people were this serious about Biscoff.”

@jhanyalexandra This was so wonderfully hilarious, the girlies don’t play about Biscoff! • • • #delta #airplanes #biscoff #deltaairlines #biscoffspread @delta @Biscoff ♬ original sound – Jhany

Biscoff Lovers Swarm the Comments Section

As expected, other enthusiasts share their own stories and love for the cookies. Slightly more surprising, Delta commented on the TikTok, saying, “A Biscoff cookie mission??? No, we get it though.”

One viewer shares, “Delta gave me a whole sleeve of biscoff before. It was like 20 packs.” While another says, “This is so my husband and I — if one of us takes a flight and doesn’t bring Biscoff home for the other, grounds for divorce.”

Some viewers are just laughing at the absurdity of the situation. One says, ““You stay here and greet people” has me cackling.” Jhany responds, “I blacked out but i’m pretty sure I went no!!!! And she said yes!! And then left for the cookie.”

At the end of the day, Jhany’s caption says it best: “The girlies don’t play about Biscoff!”

The Mary Sue reached out to Jhany via Instagram direct message and to Delta via media request form.

Update Nov. 24, 2025:

In a message to the Mary Sue, Jhany confirmed it was the first time she had asked a flight attendant for extra Biscoff. Because of her Celiac disease, she can’t eat them but makes sure her best friend gets them instead.

“I’ve never asked on other airlines really for anything, I wasn’t even sure if they could hand anything out after the fact,” she said. “I was surprised by how above and beyond she went! I assumed when she couldn’t find any in the first class cabin area (I was in economy) that that was the end of it, it was so kind of her to call the FA’s in the back and go through all the people getting off just for this minor task.”

She added that the pilot was also kind and appeared genuinely happy to greet everyone getting off the plane.

Jhany was glad to see the wave of positivity underneath her video in the comments section.

“My friend thought the story was so silly! And heartwarming, she was hopeful that meant some Biscoff PR for her lol, saying since I can’t eat them I should just give them her address since she would benefit from it,” she wrote.

Jhany shared what prompted her to ask for some in the first place.

“I had to talk myself into asking for them to begin with, it was my friends birthday weekend so when I knew I didn’t have any I figured of all weekends, it makes sense to ask now,” she shared. “I didn’t think I’d still be talking about it a week later. But I think it’s so refreshing and hopeful to see humans want to be so kind to each other and how many others could relate to similar experiences with other FA’s that went above and beyond for their experience.”
