I tried a 6-day meal plan from MuscleFood to achieve my fitness goals for under £3 a meal

Like a lot of people, I love to eat and enjoy my meals - but preparing three meals a day, every day sometimes can feel like a never ending task.

When it comes to breakfast I’ll usually skip that all together in favour of extra time in bed.

Lunch, dinner and snack time is usually my time to shine - but thinking about what to eat every single day can often be daunting for culinary novices.

I’m actively trying to gain weight so I can then tone up and achieve the results I’m looking for, so skipping meals isn’t likely to get me to my goals in a hurry.

To help me on my way to my health and fitness goals, I jumped at the chance to try out high-quality healthy food service, Muscle Food.

Muscle Food offers a range of products including meal plans, butchers meat hampers, prepped lunch pots, healthy snacks and even recipe kits too.

I tried the brand's 6-day Goal Getters plan, you can select whether you want to lose weight with the Super Slimmer plan or if you're keen to tone up there's the Lean Machine plan.

And the best news? Prices start from just £2.07 per meal - how good is that?

Goal Getter Lean Machine plan (Muscle Food)

The Lean Machine plan is available via flexible weekly deliveries of 3, 5, 6 and 7 day plans delivered fresh to your door. Meal plans come with meat, vegan and vegetarian options.

I got the option to choose breakfast, lunch and dinner choices as well as snacks too, it even gave me a detailed breakdown of the calorie count i'd be hitting for the day..

Goal getters plans include prepped lunch pots for on the go meals and easy to follow recipe kits for your evening meal.

I was surprised at how much food came (Reporter'sown image/ iPhone)

I was given a time slot for delivery the day before its arrival. As expected everything came perfectly packaged with adequate cooling bags for meat and snacks packed separately.

One of the options I chose for breakfast was sold out at the time of my delivery being processed, but I was made aware of this and offered a pretty similar alternative - which I liked.

I decided to share my plan with a friend who is also working towards the same fitness goals as I am, so instead of a 6-day plan it worked as a 3-day plan for two people.

My snack drawer was fully stocked (Reporter's own image/ iPhone)

Honestly, I enjoyed everything about my 6-day trial plan, mostly the fact that I didn't have to worry about calories or what I'd be eating every day.

Apart from small cooking preparations it was super simple to get on with my day.

My friend is notoriously a fussy eater and found that being able to select meals ahead of time (that she actually liked) took a lot of the fuss out of meal times.

From start to finish of the process I'd score Muscle Food's meal plans a strong 9.5 out of 10.
