Retail goliath Amazon has promised to fix its virtual assistant Alexa after reports the device was randomly laughing at people.
Like Apple's Siri, Alexa is an digital assistant built into several Amazon devices.
The program activates by saying the word "Alexa" then a command like "play music".
But over the past month several people have reported strange occurrences of Alexa laughing at them for no reason.
Twitter user CaptHandlebar captured the moment his device let out a creepy chuckle.
"I thought a kid was laughing behind me."
Other users have taken to social media to report Alexa laughing at them either without any prompt or when they when they have asked the device to do something.
Amazon has told media outlets it is aware of the reports about Alexa and is working to fix it.
"In rare circumstances, Alexa can mistakenly hear the phrase 'Alexa, laugh'," Amazon said in a statement.
"We are changing that phrase to be 'Alexa, can you laugh?' which is less likely to have false positives, and we are disabling the short utterance 'Alexa, laugh'.
"We are also changing Alexa's response from simply laughter to 'Sure, I can laugh' followed by laughter."
