I played under Wilfried Nancy at Celtic, it 'sucked' seeing him fail in Glasgow

Auston Trusty has opened up about Wilfried Nancy's ill-fated time at Celtic, insisting it "sucked" the way his spell unravelled in Glasgow.

After replacing Martin O'Neill in December last year, the Frenchman only lasted eight games, with his predecessor returning the following month to steer Celtic to a league and Scottish Cup double.

Speaking to Charlie Mulgrew on his Pitch to Par YouTube channel, the USA international set the scene regarding Nancy at Celtic. "It's a tough one. Obviously, he came in at a really hard time; the team wasn't performing the best at that period of time," he said.

"You can talk for days about what went wrong, what went right, but at the end of the day, we won. We won the league. And it's not really worth getting into it because honestly, he’s a good guy. Like, it sucked that he was only here for 30-something days, 33 days.

But you could tell he was a really good guy and he really was trying his best. So, I know all the stuff that happens online, and the stuff that's said online, but as players, we can't control all that kind of stuff.

"As a person, he’s a good guy, and he really tried his best."
