Former Rangers midfielder Ryan Jack has insisted Steven Gerrard is a "great option" to become the next Ibrox boss.
The Scotland internationalist reckons his former manager is a solid option to become permanent Rangers boss for a second time.
Barry Ferguson is in charge at Rangers until the end of the season, with the expectation of a new manager being appointed after the 49 Enterprises and Andrew Cavenagh Rangers takeover deal goes through.
For Jack, there is little reason to look beyond Gerrard as he outlined the key qualities the Liverpool legend first brought to the club and could do again.
The midfielder, now at Erokspor in Turkiye, lists Gerrard as "probably the best" leader he's worked under and hailed his mentality and ability to work under pressure.
Crucially, Gerrard - a free agent after leaving Al Ettifaq - had an immediate connection with the Rangers supporters when he was first appointed.

“When you talk about mentality, pressure, demands - and knowing the club - he’s ideal," Jack told the Sunday Mail.
“For me, if it’s about being able to handle all of that? He’s a leader, probably the best I’ve ever had in my career.
“So yeah, he’d be a great option for the club to look at.
“I’m sure there will be other candidates but it’s about making sure they get the right one, who can come in and lift the whole place.
“When Gerrard was appointed the first time and was at the stadium, I remember seeing the pictures on TV.
“Immediately, he had that interaction with the fans. Right away, he had that passion.
“For us as players, when we saw that we thought: ‘Here we go, he knows what this is all about’.”
