‘I never saw it coming’: Grandfather breaks silence after Yellowstone bison attack

• Carl Isom-McDaniel, a 65-year-old grandfather, was severely injured after being thrown 8 feet into the air by a bull bison at Yellowstone National Park on July 10.
• The incident, which occurred at Bridge Bay Campground, resulted in Isom-McDaniel sustaining multiple fractures to his femur.
• Isom-McDaniel recounted from his hospital bed that the bison, initially appearing non-aggressive, suddenly charged and targeted him.
• Footage captured by photographer Mike MacLeod showed the bison hooking Isom-McDaniel with its horn and tossing him, with the animal also charging at a group of children before moving on.
• Yellowstone National Park officials confirmed that no "management action" would be taken against the bison following the attack.
