Marjorie Taylor Greene is wrong about almost everything. The important word there is “almost”. Whatever your opinion of all the other crazy, offensive, and bizarre stuff she spouts online, she is at least committed to “America First”. And, for her, that means under absolutely no circumstances should the United States let itself be dragged into Israel’s war against Iran.
Many MAGA devotees see America’s foreign interventions as a colossal waste of lives and money. Frankly, they have a point: after $8 trillion spent and millions dead, the results of the “War on Terror” are the Taliban back in control of Afghanistan and Iraq failing to become the beacon of Western democracy the neocons insisted it would be.
Now, Republican hawks are eager to repeat that mistake with Iran, urging Trump to commit the United States to regime change and back up Israel. Once again, there’s no plan for what happens afterwards, no overarching objective other than blowing stuff up, and the prospect of creating yet another spiralling and chaotic situation that’ll spread terror across the region and the world.
Greene fights back
— Marjorie Taylor Greene
The RINOs, Neocons, and Never Trumpers are funding a primary challenge against me.
Why? Because I refuse to take their dirty money and I won’t send your kids to die in another foreign war.
This is the biggest political fight of my life. I need your help.pic.twitter.com/hElI8Sxot8

Greene is sticking to her guns and fighting back against this, and it might cost her a job. She claims, “RINOs, Neocons, and Never Trumpers are funding a primary challenge against me” because “I refuse to take their dirty money and I won’t send your kids to die in another foreign war.”
For avid Greene-watchers, there are now storm clouds on the horizon. On one hand, Greene has established herself as a die-hard MAGA cheerleader who would take a bullet for Donald Trump. On the other she is implacably opposed to America being dragged into Israel’s war.
There are a few possible paths from here. If Trump bows to Netanyahu’s demands and bails out Israel at great cost to America, we may see Greene openly criticize Trump, splitting the MAGA movement. Alternatively, if Trump doesn’t play ball, neocon hawks and AIPAC will be out to take down Greene at any cost for helping dissuade him. Or, Greene may simply fold herself and become a hypocrite.
I don’t like Greene one bit. She’s a corrosive and degrading influence on American politics and is responsible for spreading some truly poisonous conspiracy theories. Even so, she’s absolutely right that America being strong-armed into bailing Israel out of the war Netanyahu just started would be an outright disaster. Here’s hoping that, at least on that point, she gets a win.
