In today’s segment of What Did He Just Say?, United States President Donald Trump is apparently siding with a sex offender. On Monday, October 6, 2025, during a conference at the Oval House, Trump was quipped about Ghislaine Maxwell, the close aide of disgraced financier and child sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.
In the context of Maxwell’s appeal being rejected by the Department of Justice for her 2021 conviction, Trump was asked by an interviewer if he was considering a pardon for her. After initially pretending not to know her name and having heard of her in a while, unsurprisingly enough, Donald Trump stressed that he was not completely ruling out the possibility of a pardon. He insisted on not being aware of the case’s developments, mentioning that he would have to speak to the DOJ to familiarise himself with it. He said:
“Well, I’ll take a look at it. I’ll speak to the DOJ. I wouldn’t consider it or not consider — I don’t know anything about it. I will speak to the DOJ.”
After making these atrocious comments, when the interviewer cross-questioned him about why she would deserve forgiveness, Trump informed that several people had asked him for pardons, including Sean Diddy Combs, whom he calls “Puff Daddy.” For the uninformed, Diddy was recently sentenced to 4 years in prison and fined after he was accused of multiple accounts of sexual assault, sexual misconduct, and sex trafficking. The ruling acquitted him of the most heinous crimes but found him guilty of transportation to engage in prostitution.
Reaching further lows with his words, when the interviewer expressed shock over Trump’s comments and highlighted that Maxwell was a convicted sex offender, Trump brushed it off in an apathetic manner by saying:
“Yeah, I mean, I’m going to have to take a look at it. I’d have to ask DOJ. I didn’t know they rejected it. I didn’t know she was even asking for it, frankly.”
