Neighbours can fall out for a host of different reasons - whether it's someone playing music too loud or who should pay to cut down a huge tree right on the boundary between gardens.
Meanwhile, one woman has found herself at war with her neighbour over quite possible the most petty reason we've ever heard - a doormat.
Every morning, when Taylor Stanfill leaves her apartment, she finds that her doormat has been kicked away, presumably for being too close to her neighbour's mat, despite the fact they never actually touch.
"My neighbours keep moving our mat even though I make sure they don’t touch," she wrote in a clip posted from her on TikTok handle @ttvtaylorshines.

Taylor captioned the clip: "They don’t want to start this war.."
The TikToker was quickly inundated with comments filled with suggestions on how she could stand her ground against the passive aggressive neighbours, and with a little bit of help from her followers, she plotted her next move.
Taylor revealed she was using Velcro strips to attach the mat to the ground, so it couldn't be so easily kicked away.

"I have the Velcro strips I’m putting them down today and I’ll show you guys how the mats are placed so you can see mine is not in their space," she wrote in a comment, before revealing a little note she placed underneath.
In the event that her neighbours would be so bold as to peel the mat off the ground, Taylor left a note underneath, which read: "What do you think you’re doing?" Brilliant.
One follower questioned: "Why do they feel entitled to having a mat and moving yours though?" to which Taylor responded: "The best part is they wipe their feet on ours not theirs."
In the comments section, she went on to give a little update, and honestly, the audacity these neighbours have is astounding.
"I thought my boyfriend was home and I was opening the door for him but it was her taking the Velcro off my mat, she thinks she should be the only one with a mat," Taylor wrote.
"I told her if she touches my things again I will go to the leasing office about this and told her to wipe her dirty nasty feet on her own mat but if y’all know a good glue that I can take off in six months when the lease is up let me know." The war continues.
