'I'm a Taylor Swift superfan and went to the Eras Tour - this is why you NEED to go'

Superstar Taylor Swift kicked off her epic Eras Tour in Glendale, Arizona on March 17 and I was one of the 70,000 people fortunate enough to be in attendance that evening.

The non-stop party of a show, which is over three hours long, took fans on a journey through the 33-year-old's different eras, from an acoustic rendition of Tim McGraw off of her debut album, all the way through to recent bops like Karma from the record-breaking Midnights.

Never in my wildest dreams did I think I'd be there to witness history in the making on opening night, but I count my lucky stars that I was.

It was beyond my wildest dreams (Courtney Pochin)

Now, as a Swiftie, (a Taylor Swift superfan), I am aware that I am incredibly biased when it comes to this, but I have to say that The Eras Tour is not only the best show Taylor's ever done. It's the best show I've ever been to.

I've been to every single one of Taylor's tours in the UK since the Speak Now World Tour at the O2 Arena in 2011. Each one was a masterpiece, but this takes pieces from them all and combines them to create something truly magical.

What's so special about this show is that for the people in the crowd, it's not just a flip through Taylor's biggest hits, it's more akin to being transported right back to some of the most memorable moments of your life from the last decade.

Or at least, that's how it felt for me.

Taylor strumming a bedazzled guitar while spinning around in a gold sparkly dress and singing Fearless instantly took me right back to the moment I discovered her music aged 15.

Hearing All Too Well (10 minute version) live for the first time hit me in the gut as hard as the five-minute version did when I first heard it on RED in 2012. There were actual tears.

And I Knew You Were Trouble instantly made me feel like I was back at university, drunkenly belting out the chorus with my housemates at the weekly club night on campus.

As well as reliving core memories, the show also allows for incredible new ones to be made - such as the chance to finally cross the bridge of all bridges with Taylor Swift and sing (shriek) along to Cruel Summer.

This has been something many of us diehard fans have been denied the right to do since LoverFest was cancelled during the pandemic.

The Eras Tour gives you that and so much more as there have been so many new songs since then on Folklore, Evermore, and Midnights, plus the re-records.

And as well as the chock-a-block setlist, there's also some impressive staging and visuals to admire, some very sultry choreography to gawk at (IYKYK), and an abundance of stunning costumes.

Basically, what I'm saying is that you NEED to go to this show.

Dates for the UK and Europe were announced earlier this week and millions of people have already registered for the sale, so actually snapping up tickets is going to result in a Hunger Games-style battle to the soul-crushing end.

But if you can make it through the fight, I promise it's worth it and you'll have the time of your life.
