I'm A Celebrity star 'gutted' she didn't get the Australian jungle experience and had to spend time at Welsh castle instead

I'm A Celebrity...Get Me Out Of Here! 2021 contestant Kadeena Cox has admitted she was "gutted" to have missed out on the full I'm A Celebrity experience in Australia as she took part in the show when it was filmed at Gwrych Castle in Wales. Appearing on Celebrity Catchphrase on Sunday, January 1, the Paralympian told host Stephen Mulhern that Wales was "alright".

She said that she would have rather taken part in the series in Australia as Wales is "freezing". She said: "I am gutted I didn't have the true experience, all the creepy crawlies in the jungle and it was freezing in Wales."

The star added: "Wales was alright but it was cold" while Stephen joked: "By the way, hello and good evening to all of our Welsh viewers". Kadeena appeared on the 2021 series of I'm A Celebrity alongside former Strictly Come Dancing judge Arlene Phillips, radio presenter Snoochie Shy and EastEnders star Adam Woodyatt.

Emmerdale star Danny Miller won the series with Coronation Street actor Simon Gregson coming second and Loose Women presenter Frankie Bridge coming third. Kadeena was the second celebrity to be eliminated from the castle.

In both 2020 and 2021 I'm A Celebrity...Get Me Out Of Here! was not filmed in the Australian jungle like normal, due to the coronavirus pandemic. Instead, Gwrych Castle was used as the set for the show.

In 2022 the show returned to the Australian jungle and viewers were shocked by the entrance of disgraced MP Matt Hancock. Former England footballer Jill Scott won the 2022 series with Hollyoaks star Owen Warner coming second and Matt making it to the final and coming third.

2022 was also the first time that a Royal entered the jungle as former rugby player Mike Tindall, who is married to the King's niece Zara Phillips, took part in the show.
