I'm A Celebrity South Africa viewers 'switch off' after 'disgusting' trial

Joe Swash and Dean Gaffney arrived at the I'm A Celebrity... South Africa camp on Wednesday night, but before being allowed inside they had to endure the 'most disgusting trial' in the show's history.

The EastEnders legends took part in their very own Bushtucker Trial before stepping foot into camp, where they were tasked with drinking nasty cocktails to win the celebrities a treat. The disgusting beverages included blended eyeballs, as well as sheep brains and crocodile feet.

The duo attempted their drinking challenge but were repeatedly gagging and retching as they downed the brutal concoctions. Dean and Joe couldn't keep the disgusting drinks down without throwing up, as viewers at home were left covering their eyes during the challenge.

Even host Ant McPartlin chimed in, calling it: “Possibly the most disgusting piece of television I’ve ever been a part of”. Standing to the side of the actors, Ant and Dec couldn't control their laughter as Dean and Joe struggled their way through the challenge.

Dean and Joe were told what special treats they were winning for their fellow campmates, as Joe drank a cocktail of blended animal body parts to win Myleene Klass some cheese. “I can’t believe I’m doing this for Brie!” Joe screams as he prepares to down the disgusting beverage.

Watching on as Dean tries to earn food for Janice Dickinson, he tells his campmate: “Janice will eat you alive if you don’t drink this.”

Viewers took to Twitter as the disgusting scenes aired and vented about their uncomfortable watch. “Literally fast forwarded the first 18 minutes of #i’maceleb so I didn’t have to watch two grown men be sick,” said one viewer.

“I can’t watch these eating ones coz these two have the worst gag reflexes !,” said another.

A third chimed in: “Is that vomiting bit over now? I can’t watch..” while a fourth penned: “switching off.”

"FF past the drinking trial, I find it vile not, funny watching them wretch and spew #ImACeleb," another penned. While someone else wrote: "These eating and drinking trials are not funny anymore. I’ve literally had to wind through it as I was heaving ! #imacelebrity."

I'm A Celebrity... South Africa continues 9pm on ITV1 and ITVX.
